Well, all good things trips do actually have to come to an end, and we were at the end of a glorious Mexican viaje. On our last morning in Mexico City, we had time to eat one more incredible breakfast, this time at Casino Español. I can't get enough of the chocolate milk in Mexico, and the fruit plate was fresh and yummy (even the papaya, which I am trying to make myself like, wasn't too bad).
I had an egg, beef steak, nopales (cactus), and beans:
We didn't have much of a plan, so we just wandered about, stopping for a bit of shopping at the Mercado de Artesanias la Cuidadela, a local handicraft market.
This one is my favorite:
Of course we made time in our schedule and space in our tummies for just a few more bites of Mexican food. Even the airport food is delicious. I should have skipped this last indulgence, however, for I think it was at this time that my camera was either lost or stolen. I had used it just before we ate, and that's the last I saw of it. (Pictures on this post are from my cell phone.)
So the question is when do we go back? There a lot more destinations out there. I have been studying up on the Purepecha tribe, they were one of the native tribes in Michoacan that stood up to the Aztecs. Also Michoacan is known for ice cream, I am sure you have heard of La Michoacana, there a lot of them here in CA.
ReplyDeleteYes, we have two La Michoacana ice cream places within a few miles of us, one in Redlands and one in Yucaipa. I'm game for a trip to Michoacan!
DeleteDefinitely, more Mexico is in order. I love the place.
